The Section is led by its governing Council, consisting of 16 members elected for staggered terms of four years each, as well as the Section's officers: the Treasurer, Chair-Elect/Secretary, and Chair. The position of Chair is held alternately from year to year by a real estate lawyer and a probate and trust lawyer. During years in which a real estate lawyer is the chair, the leader of the probate and trust side of the section is the chair-elect. For this year, the 2011-2012 year (commencing June 1, 2011 and continuing until May 31, 2012), the chair is Craig Adams, a probate attorney, the chair-elect is Robert "Doc" Watson, a real estate attorney and the treasurer is Lisa Jamieson, a probate attorney.
